Mike Coughlin was born and raised in the Boston, MA suburbs and, currently, resides on Rhode Island’s south coast on the Long Island Sound.
Professional interests
After engineering management school and a few years work, he started exploring Denver. After an MBA at U. Denver, Hughes Aircraft moved him to California where he changed the way Hughes did long-range data processing planning; this resulted in a U.S. Air Force commendation for ‘best long-range data processing plans’ in the entire defense industry.
Mike’s grad school interest in energy resource management led him to Conoco/duPont where he designed and managed building all their financial systems used in North American Exploration. Mike’s been entrepreneurally on his own since finishing that. He has done startup business planning for Digital Equipment Corporation.
